This article is not written as an essay, it’s like a journal, or personal diary. I am not going to prove or introduce something here. The only thing I want to talk about is my feelings about the time in this university, or this country in some cases.

I have stayed in US since a month ago, or 5 weeks exactly. It’s not long enough for me to adapt the culture and customs here and I am confused about their words sometimes. The courses are usually understandable, because the professors do not speak too fast. However, when I heard some guys talking to others, I have no idea what they are talking about. This makes me feel not so pleased, but I cannot go over this problem in a short time. In order to improvement my English, a lot of works should be paid.

Here, I would like to mention something about my courses. The first one should be my major, economics. I am taking macroeconomics 103 and it’s the most relaxed class I have in this semester. The professor is a really nice guys, he gradually put everything in syllabus. I have 2 econ lessons every week. I do not have discussion section in econ and the lecture section takes one and half hours. At the beginning of this semester, I took one quiz per lesson. Later on, I had one or two quizzes per lesson. Unfortunately, I have 2 quizzes right now. One is at the beginning and the other one is at the end. I was wondering that I might have 3 quizzes in the coming week. By the way, I would like to add that students are allowed to talk during the in-class quizzes, so those quizzes are not too hard to cope with.

Second, I want to talk about calculus 220 and chemistry 102 together. Since I had learnt those two subjects for 2 years in my high school, I don’t really pay attention to these two subjects. Comparatively, calculus is much easier than chemistry. I can easily finish all my homework without going to lessons. I still have to attend every chemistry class, because I am not used to some chemical name here. Honestly, I did not always skip those to classes, but I was somewhat bored when I stayed in classroom.

The remaining class is LAS, only 50 minutes per week, not so important, right? Only 4 people in my class and we were taught with something not so hard. The content is a little bit boring, but we usually use this time to chat with each other. Whatever, I have to attend and finish homework.

Something like conclusion, my English is not improved during this time, though I still feel nice.
That's it.

  1. Jianghang, you did a good job, but I encourage you to write a structured essay, which seems to be either argumentative or informative essay from now on. There's no born-to-be good writer. Keep working!
